Wire Basket Redo

Good afternoon ya'll!!

Boy oh boy, it's been a humid day today. I was in the garage most of the day working on the mirror I bought this past weeeknd.  I've got it stripped down, painted and today I worked on shabbying it up a bit.

Just a preview:

(I should be working on my dining room table and chairs, but again, there are so many other little projects lying around that are so quick and fun I just couldn't help myself!)

Yesterday, I had to go to Staples and UPS some gifts out..
1 for my grandson (Just cuz I luv em sooo much!) and a birthday gift for my only niece.
(She'll be 8 in a week. I hardly ever get to see her,
she lives all the way over in Germany!)

Of course, upon leaving Staples, I did get sidetracked at a thrift shop.. hehehe..

Look what I found!

Yep, you guessed it..

A pretty "GYnormus" (is that a word?) metal basket!

This baby is BIG! My heart fluttered a bit, and then my brain kicked in with thoughts of white paint.. LOL

I painted the top totally white, and drybrushed white on the caging of the basket...

~ LOVE LOVE LOVE ~

I put a yummy granny smith apple next and beside my new basket,
so you can get a better idea of the size.

From that to this:

  4. Hiya Korrie and Courtney, thanks for your comments.. I appreciate it! I think it looks sooo much brighter and happier in white; than the dark, dark green it was before.

  5. Yup, the basket sure is a big one.
I do need to keep in my mind that items can be painted. Now that I understand this, I shutter to think of the items I have dismissed for it was not the right color, etc.
    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Hi Michelle, I do the SAME thing. I've passed up purchasing items before as well, not even thinking about painting it and changing it into something MUCH better. Not anymore, that's for sure!!
