Armoire ~ Before n After

Ola! LOL 2 posts in one day!! Yay!

I wanted to share with ya'll
this armoire I picked up off Craigslist
a couple of weeks ago.

I got started on it right away, got 2 coats
of paint on it, only needed to get 1 more on
then shabby it up.. and guess what?

I got sick. Ugh.. and man o man did I ever get sick!
From the bathroom back to my bed, for an entire week..

So, my pretty armoire had to sit in the garage
all by herself.. unfinished.. boo hoo..

Anyway.. feeling back to my old self again
the last couple of days, so, after redecorating
my booth yesterday.. today was dedicated to
finishing the armoire..

Here she is!!

Before:

And.. After!!

I painted and shabbied right over the hardware.
I love this look!

Oh my goodness.. did my heart ever skip a beat
when the original key fell out of the drawer
onto the floor! Yay!!

I tied the key to some ribbon and it hangs from
the hat compartment door.

The inside was quite dirty and gross..
So, I cleaned it up and painted it pink!

Yep.. sh'es a keeper!

Awesome Thrifting Goodness!

My day yesterday started out with a big *sigh* ~ as I detest running errands..

I did end the day feeling quite accomplished, though!

I started the day out about 10am, and finally finished my running around at around 3:30pm.
No sence in going home, Mr. Ruffles doesn't get home until 5:30pm, so, I figured I had time to kill at a couple of thrift stores.  (I even squeezed in some time at a local antique mall)  Man o man, I am glad I did! Wait.. just wait till you see what I found and took home with me!!

No furniture ~ althought I really wanted to buy a couple of peices ~ I showed Mr. Ruffles my finds last night and he says, "I thought you weren't buying anymore until you had some of the other done?"  I corrected him and said, "No.. I said I wouldn't buy anymore FURNITURE until I had some of the other done.." hehehe!!!

Ok, without further ado, my thrifting finds yesterday:

Gorgeous shabby rose platter with gold trim
Wire basket
AWESOME turquoise enamel ware

Letter holder & gold mirror frames (yep, gonna paint these!)
White wire basket
Check out the cool pink phone!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
It's a note card and pen holder. The middle says, "Dial Me"
So cute!!
3 little Homer Laughlin plates

Another close up pic of the phone
and I wrapped these blue colored vintage books in burlap

 Picture frame
Wine bottle corks
Huge bag of buttons
Vintage Pink thread
Apothecary jar
Galvanized flour scoop

Galvanized tall pail

Insert Happy Dance here!!!

More RUFFLES!!

And, I found this set of skeleton keys at the Antique Mall.

I finished the day off by texting Mr. Ruffles he needed to take me out to dinner.  We ate a pretty awesome restaurant that is set up on the beach of a small lake nearby, and ate outside. ahhhh... :)

Framed Key Wall

I can't believe it's still morning (well, for another 1/2 an hour) and I already checked and answered emails, went out for breakfast, made a pit stop at Lowes.. browsed at Renningers Antique Market.. and took some pictures to share with ya'll! Good start to the day - but, I do see a nap in my near future.. hehe..

I wanted to share with you 2 walls I completed (well, I guess nothing is EVER "complete")..

On one wall I had Mr. Ruffles hand my shelf from Home Goods I repainted white, of course. And added my $7 clearance mirror from Tuesday morning:

On the shelf I added some cream colored roses and glass jars.

On the wall next to this one I took some "goodwill"/"garage sale" frames, spraypainted them white, matted them with drop cloth fabric and hot glued a few of my keys to the middles.. it turned out sooo cute!!

So, now, of course, I am on the hunt for more keys and frames!
I would love to add more like this to the wall.

What do ya think?

I mentioned that I stopped at Renningers this morning too.
I found a couple of great things I'm pretty excited about!

A tattered chair I'll be placing a plant on and putting inside the little garden area we now have just outside the dinnette area, and an old rusty clam basket.. yippee!! LOVE LOVE LOVE them both!!

Thinking I should move the chair over.. just a bit.. and hide that electrical box!
