New Color For Me

It's a bit dreary outside today
in Florida.. still warm, so,
no complaints.. just a good
day to get a couple crafty
projects done..

I picked this little 1/2 side table
up at Renningers Extravaganza
a couple of weeks ago:

Very cute.. and very sturdy.
Just not liking the stain color..

not at all!

So.. off to Lowes I go!

I decided I'd try a new color.
I picked up a quart of
Valspars Notre Dame.

I am really loving this shade!

Isn't it pretty?

From that..                     To this!

The table above and
all these goodies below
are going to my booth at
Traditions Antique Mall
tomorrow..

If you're in the Wildwood area,
I'd love to meet ya!

Hope ya'll are enjoying your day!

Just Afters...

I started to buy some wood furniture off of Craigslist and from Salvation Army here in town.. over the last couple of months.  I would strip it down, sand it and paint it white.. never even thinking to do the "before" photos.  Ooopsy!!

I thought I'd share my "afters" with ya'll anyway.. Enjoy!

3 Shabbied up wooden candlesticks I found at Salvation Army for $3 each.

This rocking chair was also from Salvation Army. It used to be completely black, now, of course, in beautiful white!

Here she is sitting pretty in my living room..

I sewed these 2 pillows previously, and when I put the rocking chair inside, thought these were the little added touch she needed to make her complete...

And, lastly, here's another chair I redid.. she has a "soulmate match" already painted.. just waiting for me to put together the matching seat cover.  These chairs were free! My dad picked them up off the side of the road and sanded them down before offering them up to me.. yay! Thanks Dad!!

And, last.. but, not least.. not in the very least at all!!! My first furniture re-do. I purchased this hutch from Salvation Army as well.  A bit more pricey than I wanted to pay.. but, I really wanted to add a white hutch to my dinette area.  Of course, she wasn't white when I bought her.. but, look at her now!

LOVE

This is the on top of my hutch. I spraypainted the birdcages, added some hydrangeas inside and a birdie peeking inside on top.  I also spraypainted the mirror white. (I scored that $99 mirror at Tuesday Morning for only $7!! It was on clearance, then, around Christmas time they had a clearance sale ON the clearance stuff!!)

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of my "Afters".. and I sincerely apoligize for not having the befores...

Shabby Birdcage

I have a new birdcage all decorated up to show ya'll:

I painted it white. Inside I sewed a sweet little white pillow made from linen and then added a pink begonia and a white rose.. so sweet! On the top I added pink and white ribbon and some lace. And, of course, you can't forget this awfully pretty crystal beaded pink birdie..

Here's a quick shot of the back of the birdcage.

Birdcage Re-do

Remember this birdcage from Hobby Lobby?

After painting and adding a couple of candles, birdnest, ribbon and a little bird who escaped..

It's all done!!

What do ya think? So much prettier all white!

(Of course.. I see the little mess now.. hehehe.. there's my ribbon on the table.. sigh)

Editing this post to show ya'll where I placed my birdcage:

Sittin' pretty on my little magazine side table.
(That was a DML Flea Market save I painted and shabbied up.. only $3!)

Hobby Lobby Trip

Took a little "road trip" to Hobby Lobby today.  It's not that far away, only about 30 miles, but, it sure seems alot longer.. it's "oh so worth it", though!!

Had to pick up more stuffing for the new pillows I made last night, found a pretty rose shaped button for one of the pillows, a couple of really cute ladybug pinwheels for outside, and this awesome wooden birdcage at 60% off!
Of course, it'll be painted white to match the other birdcages on top of my hutch...

Oh.. I didn't mention I have a hutch?! hehe

I will show her soon enough. Right now she's a mess.. so, I 'll have to clean and organize her up a bit before I reveal her to ya'll!

Love this birdcage though.. with a price tag of $24 bucks and some white paint, it'll fit right in!

On a sidenote - please excuse the mess in the garage!  I didn't even notice the milkjug and cocacola box.. what the heck?!? LOL
