Mirror Makeover & A Whatchamacallit!

I went thrifting today for a bit..
Would love to share my finds with ya'll..
And, ask ya's for a bit o' help.

I found this:

Does anyone have a clue what it is?
A friend on my
suggested it might be a toast or napkin holder.
I'm going with toast holder, but, would really
love to know for sure.

Do you have any clue?

I also found all of these:

A huge ironstone platter: 21 x 14.5!
No cracks, no chips.. just gorgeous!

Marked James Edwrds & Sons/Dalehall.
Searched on the internet a bit, found that it's
dated 1852-1882. (yay!)

Perfectly hand painted shabby chic pink plate.
Again, no chips, no cracks..
Just perfect!

LOVE LOVE LOVE
all these wooden eggs!!

I asked the lady at the store,
"How much for the wooden eggs?"
She says, "You can have everything in the box for $8."

SOLD!

The picture below shows what else, besides the eggs,
that was in the box for the low price of $8.

There's some vintage buttons, craft stix,
wood plaques, velcro, confetti,
apholstry needles,
glass etching kit and more!

Found these books to craft with..
upon further inspection and investigating ,
the top one looks like it might be from the 1800's..

And, here's my Mirror Makeover:

I found this mirror in an antique store
a couple of weeks ago.

I just love these types of frames.

A couple of coats of white paint later..

It now resides on my wall..

LOVE!

Ballerina Pillow

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you're enjoying your day?
Yesterday we took a trip to the waterpark to cool off.
So much fun!

When I got home, I called my grandson, James..
First thing he says to me is:
"I wanna come to your Florida, Punkin!"

(He lives in Michigan, is 3 yrs old and calls me Punkin..)

Ahh.. I love that little guy!

Today, I thought I'd do some work in the garage..

I was wrong. Too hot!!

So, I stayed inside, did some cleaning and made this
sweet ballerina pillow..

I used a ballerina picture from

Added some glitter and a
pretty pink rhinestone..

Just adorable!

Everything's in Two's!

Two step ladders last week..

and now..

Two corner cabinets!!

Well, I didn't finish 2 of them
at once, this is my 2nd corner cabinet I've completed.
I ALMOST love this one more than the last!
(Except the 1st one I did was from
my parents farmhouse..)

Gotta love handmedowns!!

Here's the before picture:

And, here are the afters:

I kept the handles original
since they were made of wood..

Even painted & shabbied the back..

From that....   to this!

2 Steppin'...

2 Steppin'..

because this is the 2nd step stool
this week I've redone. LOL

I think I'm in love with steps,
and I'm wishing I still had my house
with the upstairs in it.. *sigh*

Anyway.. here's the before of a
vintage step stool I bought from
an antique store last week:

While some things are great with
natural rusting..

This one, in my opinion,
had just a bit too much rust.

I know, sometimes there isn't enough,
but, wait till you see the after!!

I gave her a good bath..
and spraypainted 2 coats of
creamy yellow.

And recovered the seat cushion
with some wonderful coordinating
yellow and blue toile fabric.

LOVE!

From that...    to this!

Sweet lill Step Ladder

Ok, so THIS is the reason I don't have
any pictures of my booth fo ya'll today..

I put my camara in my purse yesterday
so I wouldn't forget to take it with me
to take pictures of my booth and show ya'll.

Last night I re-did this sweet lill stepladder
and took my camara out of my purse
so I could take pictures of the afters..

Der.. da.. der.. I forgot to put my
camara BACK in my purse!!

ARGH!

Hopefully I'll remember on Monday.. Sorry!!

~

I bought this sweet little stepladder
a couple of days ago.

As much as I love dragonflies..
in my opinion, the ladder
was in dire need of a shabby makeover!

Here is the before:

I left the original white paint on, and added
splashes of light aqua and pink
and another quick coat of white
and then shabbied it up.

I need to seal it up with wax yet, but,
have been searching for that extra
minute to do so..

Never enough time in the day...

But, loving the end result of
this sweet lill step ladder!!
