New/Old Wardrobe

Hiya Shabby Lovers!

Can you believe it's September already?
This past summer just FLEW by!

I am busy busy busier than ever, and that's
always a good thing!!

I wanted to share with you my latest find..

An antique wardrobe...

The bottom, which has a drawer,
the width of the wardrobe,
is behind it..
It comes apart in 3 sections.
We left it that way
so it'll be easier to paint later.
She'll be replacing the wardrobe below,
as soon as I'm finished.

I've enjoyed her for many many months,
but, I was really looking for something
much taller, and with a flat top.
Sooo.. she will be missed terribly,
but, I'm sure one of you will
give her a forever home soon!

As soon as I'm finished painting the
"new"/"old" one, I will be bringing
the one with drawers up to my booth.

If anyone is interested beforehand,
please do let me know...

I also wanted to share a couple recent shots
of my shop.. I hope you enjoy them!

Cabinet Before & After

I picked this cabinet up off of Craigslist
a couple of weeks ago..

Dark.. drab.. blah..

So, out comes my
pretty pink and white paint

And, this is what I got!

Bright, shabby.. YUM!!

I painted the inside and the details
with white, and the rest of her
gorgeousness with pink.

Then, shabbied her all up!

I just love how the old finish is peeking through...

I can so picture her with pretty
rolled up guest towels and lovely soaps inside.

I really, really wish I had the room
in our guest bathroom..

I also painted this antique frame to match.
Again, pink on the outside,
and white on the details.

So pretty!!

New Mantel For Me & Booth Pix

I did some "fluffing" in my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood, FL;
and wanted to share some pictures with ya'll:

I took an old wooden gate
with white chippy paint on it,
and added 3 dozen roses..

I attached them upside down so
they will dry properly.

My booth smelled wonderful with
the scent of fresh roses for a couple of days!

The dresser on the left sold over the weekend.. yay!

Traditions Antique Mall, where my booth
is located, is having an outside fair
with many vendors selling their "wares" outside.

I will be there, for most of the day,
making deals in my booth!

So, come on down and say "Hi"
I'd love to meet you!

~

I also wanted to share with you
my latest find for our house.

I can't wait to get started painting this one:

Be still my heart!
I am in LOVE!!

Hometown Hutch

I found this hutch for sale on Craigslist
a couple of months ago..
when I got it home
I looked it all over
and on the back was
the original tag that said
Grand Haven Michigan.

Awesome!!

Since Grand Haven is only a few miles
from where I grew up!  My family actually
camped there every summer;
at the Conference Grounds.

Here she is in all her brown glory:

And.. now here she is in all her
awesomeness!!

I changed the bottom knobs out
with new ones I found at
Michaels eons ago..

Love her MUCH better now!

Catching Up With Ya'll.. Booth Pics & Antique Bed Makeover!

Yep, it's been a minute and a day
since I last added a blog post.

My apologies!

Since before Christmas I've been SOOOO busy!

My brother visited from Germany
for a few days before Christmas.
I had such a good visit with him,
we did some catching up,
shopping and an entire day
at Universal Studios riding roller coasters!

After he left, Mr. R and I visited Puerto Rico
again for the holidays.

The picture is the view from our hotel room.
We stayed for 6 days this time,
and wish we could've stayed longer!

I finally got to see the rain forest, too.
A couple of years ago, we took my son,
Anthony with us.  We booked a tour
to visit the rain forest, but, it ended up
being cancelled due to rain..

Ya, I thought that was crazy too.. you can't
visit the rain forest .. when it rains! LOL

After we got home I had a TON to do
straightening and "fluffing" my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall.

Thankyou to everyone who visited and
bought from my booth! I appreciate it so much.

Now my booth is all ready for Valentines Day!

I just brought this antique vanity
into my booth a couple of days ago.

She's a beauty for sure!

I picked this gorgeous antique bed
up right before we left for vacation.

Sooo pretty!!
But, ya know I just have to make her
Prettier!

Here's the before:

And.. here's the after!!

Yep.. I'm pretty much squealing
with delight on how she turned out!

I painted a light pink on the flowers,
and a silver on the leafing..
then added more white on top
and shabbied all over..

Gorgeous details all over this beauty!

I almost forgot to show ya..

My favorite Christmas prezzie
I received was from my mom.

Well, actually, my mom and my brother!

My brother lives in Germany,
and last year he sent me some
antique sacks for Christmas.

I used 4 of them to cover my dining room chairs,
and with this one below.. my mom sewed me
a flea market bag!

It's huge and I just LOVE it!!

Can't wait for Renningers Extravaganza
next week to fill it with all sorts of goodies!!

From Blah to Ahhh!

I bought this Chandelier off of Craiglist last week.
The lady who was selling it said she had no way to
get it down.. so sweet Mr. Ruffles was coerced into
coming with me to take it down.
He got to take a week off of cooking!! haha!!

We got there, and he climbed up the ladder to take
the chandy down, only to find out who ever put it
up last time had bent the plate and all the screws
up into the ceiling.  It took him almost all of
45 minutes to get it down..
Of course, he was rolling his eyes at me the entire time
AND told me I was BUYING his dinner.. not cooking it! LOL

Here's a picture of the chandy after we finally got her home:

A couple of days later
I took all the crystals off
and gave her a good bath.

Then, took her outside to spray paint
all that "gold" into white..

Cleaned all the prisms..

And, now look at her!!

I was going to keep it after seeing
how much she sparkles and shines now..
but, poor Mr. R didn't wanna change out
the one I have hanging in the kitchen.

I figured I'd give him a break for once.. hehe.
I did tell him, though, if it doesn't sell in my booth
by winters end, it's coming home with me!

He actually agreed!!
So, if you're interested in making Mr. R's
work load a bit lighter by buying this
gorgeous chandy... it is hanging up in my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall for a very great price!

Just look at those pretty crystals shine!!

The last picture I snapped with my phone.
So, sorry about the cruddy shot..
but, thought'd you'd like to see her
hanging up in my booth.
