New Mantel For Me & Booth Pix

I did some "fluffing" in my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood, FL;
and wanted to share some pictures with ya'll:

I took an old wooden gate
with white chippy paint on it,
and added 3 dozen roses..

I attached them upside down so
they will dry properly.

My booth smelled wonderful with
the scent of fresh roses for a couple of days!

The dresser on the left sold over the weekend.. yay!

Traditions Antique Mall, where my booth
is located, is having an outside fair
with many vendors selling their "wares" outside.

I will be there, for most of the day,
making deals in my booth!

So, come on down and say "Hi"
I'd love to meet you!

~

I also wanted to share with you
my latest find for our house.

I can't wait to get started painting this one:

Be still my heart!
I am in LOVE!!

Antique Dresser Makeover

Yeppers, a 2nd post in 1 day!
I'm ona roll.. LOL

I was able to finish up this really cute dresser
I bought off of another dealer at the antique mall
where I sell some of my re-dos:
Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood, FL.

If you ever get the chance to stop in, please do,
I know you will just LOVE it!

Back to the dresser..

Here is the before:

Really cute legs and great smaller size..

But... ya know I couldn't just leave her alone!

I made some rose applique's from
the handle of a silver platter I had
and added them to the front of the dresser.

She's SOOO much prettier now!

Make sure you click on the pictures
so you can see these appliques..

I think they turned out really good.
I'm excited to put them on other projects now!

Check out these gorgeous drawer pulls!
Soooo cool, right?

 From that..                                   to this!

Dresser Makeover!

Hi ya'll!

Has it really been since Valentines Day
since I last left you all a blog post?
My deepest apologies!!

I've been soo busy around here,
I can hardly keep up.

Between visiting
my parents on the other side of the state..
then ~ they drove out here and stayed
for a few days..

From working on my
dining room set in my kitchen, to
"fluffing" my booth

And making sure
I didn't miss a thing at the last extravaganza
at Renningers until November..

I didn't even realize I
missed a whole week here!

And, the fun doesn't stop either..
my sweet 4 year old grandson, James,
is coming for a visit from
Michigan on Saturday!

YAY!  I'm soo excited to see him again!
I talked to him on the phone yesterday
and told him I would be at the airport
to pick him up on Saturday.
He replied, "Guess what Punkin'..
(That's what he calls me..)
we have a Saturday in my city too!"
Ahh.. he's something else, I tell ya!
Love him!!

In the meantime of all the above activity,
I've managed to finish up a dresser
I scored a few weeks ago.

Blech!

Sanded 'er down,
cleaned 'er up,
and, of course,
painted 'er white..

Tada!!

OOO I could just squeel
with delight!!

I just love this
pretty lill thang now!

Love me some Shabby!!

I picked this book
of self stick fabric paper
at Joann Fabrics this morning..

Guess what I did with it?

I cut it up into squares
and lined the drawers
so the fabric paper
looked like a quilt..

No Mod Podge this time
since it was already
sticky on one side
and fabric on the other..

How cool is that?!

Finds and What I've Been up to..

It's been such a busy month for me.
I've traveled to and back from Michigan
to visit my daughter and my grandson:

His birthday is this month.
I can't believe he's already 4!

And, a wonderful suprize..
My daughter is pregnant
with a girl!!  So, in April I'll
be making another trip up north.
I'm so excited for her and can't
wait for baby Aubrey to arrive.

My brother is also visiting from Germany.
Mr. Ruffles drove down to Ft. Lauderdale
to see him and go out for the evening.

You just know I had to squeeze in
some thrifting and picking
while we were down there too!

I found this amazing set
of antique headboard/footboards:

Yep, there are 2 headboards
and 2 footboards.. a matching twin set!

I also got this antique dresser.
Love the lines and the pulls..

Ok, this one.. I have no idea
what it belonged to or what it
came off of.. but, just look at it!

LOVE!

I can't wait to get started on it.
I can see it hung on a wall
above a bed, or leaned up
on the top of a mantal..

I also made sure I didn't
miss Renningers Extranvaganza
before we left for Ft. Lauderdale.

I was only able to go for a couple
of hours, but, did manage to find
a couple of neat finds like this:

Love the marble base
and the crystals hanging from it!
I'm really hoping I have more
time for the next extravaganza
in February.. last big one until
November.. sigh..

I finally finished this wonderful
childrens rocking chair.

So cute..

But.. you know I had to
fix it up with some Shabby goodness!!

Here's she is.. all pink n pretty:

This one is going up to my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall tomorrow.

~

I want to take a second to say

♥ THANKYOU ♥

to each and every one of you
who has congradulated me
on being featured in
Romantic Homes Magazine
and for stopping by in my booth!

You guys are amazing, and I am
humbled and grateful that you like
my work!!

Sneak Peek ~n~ Shell Wreath

Is it September already?!

I know alot of my northern friends back home
have said that the temps have dropped as low
as the 40's! Oh my word, my hips would FREEZE,
and I wouldn't be able to walk! LOL

I don't know how I ever did when I lived there, but,
I sure count my blessings we moved to Florida.

I just love it here! And, it's finally cooled off to the 80's
so I can paint in the morning again.. yippee!!

I've been working on a dresser, desk and a coffee table.

I'll show you the befores, and a couple progress shots..
but, that's it until I'm done! ;-)

Dresser Before

(Emily: Remember this one? I'm finally getting around to it!)

Lots of stripping and sanding
to get this lovely shade of pea green off!

Desk before

See that gorgeous sticky liner
in the drawers? ARGH!! Yuck!!

Painting the drawers in my kitchen.

Can't wait to show you the after!!

~

I made a heart shaped shell wreath
tonight too.. I just love it!

I'm not sure if I'll bring it
to my booth yet, or keep this one.

It does look pretty cute on my door!

Stay tuned, I'm making another post
right after this one..

I "redid" a chandy too!

Antique Buffet Makeover

I'm finally done with my antique buffet
I bought a few months ago..

Remember this?

Don't be scared!
I promise the pics get better.. :-)

She really put up a fight!
I had to chisel her peeling and warped
veneer top totally off..

Her backside was a damn shame to gaze upon,
so that had to come off and get replaced.
Along with more peeling veneer..

As I said, she put up a fight,
but, I think in the end..

I won!!

I stained the top, and used poly rub on to seal..

Her top got a few new knobs
from Hobby Lobby..

I dry brushed her bottom handles..

Distressed her up..

Lined all of her drawers with
vintage dictionary pages..

(She's a whole heck of alot smarter now!)

I just love her to pieces!!

From that...     to this!
