Happy June my friends!

Can you believe it's already summertime?

I've been busier than ever,
and it's all been great!

A week ago I flew up to get my
5 year old grandson from Michigan.
He stayed with us for 8 days.

Here is is making me breakfast!

I just love my little honey pot :-)

We hit Magic Kingdom, Sea World two times,
countless hours of swimming, some shopping,
and, of course, he needed to use ALL of my
tuppeware for gecko habitats.. hehe!

So sad to see him go back home to Michigan,
especially every night when tucking him in
he'd turn to me and say, "Love you Punkin''..

Ahh.. I miss him..

~

I do have some exciting news to share with ya'll.

Kathy of Vintage Finds Magazine
featured me in her June 2013 issue!

She met me up at my booth in Traditions Antique Mall
and then followed me back to my new house to
take some pictures..

Yep... I said it..

My NEW HOUSE!

Yay!! Mr. Ruffles and I are now proud homeowners!!

I'm SOOO beyond happy, it's insane! LOL

It's pretty awesome, and quite an honor,
that Kathy wanted to feature my home in  her magazine.

My dining room:

If you see the magazine displayed at your favorite
antique mall, make sure you pick up a copy
and check it out!

Thankyou Kathy, you did an outstanding job!!

~

I also finally got around to painting the
table my grandmother gave to me before
she passed away a couple of years ago.

I love how it turned out.

We use it on our new sunroom
in our new HOME!!
(I can't stop saying that! LOL)

Feeling Blue

Noo... don't be silly.. I'm not sad!

I titled this post Feeling Blue
because I decided to try out a
really light shade of blue on this
cute little side table I bought:

Here's the before...

And.. here's the after!

I switched out the original wooden
knob with a pretty crystal blue one too!

And, staying with the "feeling blue" theme,
I painted this frenchy looking chair
and recovered it with some gorgeous
Ralph Lauren fabric.

Here's the before..
mmm... gold.. LOL

And, after!

Antique Dresser Makeover

Yeppers, a 2nd post in 1 day!
I'm ona roll.. LOL

I was able to finish up this really cute dresser
I bought off of another dealer at the antique mall
where I sell some of my re-dos:
Traditions Antique Mall in Wildwood, FL.

If you ever get the chance to stop in, please do,
I know you will just LOVE it!

Back to the dresser..

Here is the before:

Really cute legs and great smaller size..

But... ya know I couldn't just leave her alone!

I made some rose applique's from
the handle of a silver platter I had
and added them to the front of the dresser.

She's SOOO much prettier now!

Make sure you click on the pictures
so you can see these appliques..

I think they turned out really good.
I'm excited to put them on other projects now!

Check out these gorgeous drawer pulls!
Soooo cool, right?

 From that..                                   to this!

Sewing Machine Table

I found this sewing machine table
while out thrifting a few weeks ago:

Old, crusty & rusty
with some sort of pressboard
wanna be "marble" top.

My white paint was just itchin
to make my heart sing once again..

And, of course, it didn't disappoint!

Mr. R screwed a wooden tray
I had painted white to the top.

I lined the tray with some really
pretty wallpaper I have at home.

I just love it in our dining room.
Sooo much prettier!

Pink n White Bookcase

I took a break from the dresser
I posted about a few days ago..

She's really taking a long time,
and I tend to have a zillion and one
projects going on at the same time
anyway... so..
another one couldn't hurt, eh?

It's a bookcase.. and she's a heavy one!

I wanted to try something
a bit different, so, I painted the back pink
and the rest of it my favorite.. white!

Yeah, it has a hole in it..
I left it there, in case someone
wanted to take the top shelf out
and use it as a TV stand.

The roses are actually a handle
from a silver platter I picked up
awhile ago.

I gorilla glued it on to the top.
gave a quick coat of spray primer
and then painted overtop of that.

All waxed and shabby'd up..

I decided to distress this one
quite a bit, so, it wouldn't look
SO little girly, and maybe something
you'd find tucked away in the
back corner of the basement..

Or my garage! LOL

I just love how it turned out!!

Sweet Lill Stool ~n~ Stuff

It's still MUCH too hot to paint in the garage,
so, I've been bringing a huge peice of cardboard
inside and painting on the kitchen floor..

Here's a few photos of what I've been up to lately:

I painted an old blue train case.

Tried my hand at embellishing
a stack of books..

Painted, shabbied and added
this sweet picture of a ballerina
from The Graphics Fairy.

And, another one..
This one is one of my favorites,
since I am from the North afterall!

Before of a really icky stool

And, after.. yay!

And, this plate stand.

It was black, with red roses
and green leaves.

I painted the entire thing white,
then shabbied it,
and painted the roses a blush pink.
