Beveled Beauty

Oh my goodness

Oh my goodness

Oh... my... goodness!!

I'm beyond thrilled with my "new" mirror!

Here's the before:

And.. here's the after!

This is what my mantel looked like
this past Christmas with
a Victorian tapestry above it:

And, now.. this!!

My heart was racing as Mr. Ruffles
was hanging my "new" mirror!

I may just have to turn the entire
couch around just to gaze at this beauty!!

Pretties

Mr. Ruffles is away working this weekend,
so I took the opportunity to do some shopping.

I stopped at my favorite fabric store
and found this wonderful
Cabbage and Roses fabric..

It's SOOO pretty!!

Can't wait to get started on a project with this:

I bought this cutey patuty bear from Pop Vintage
a local store in Clermont, FL, a few months ago..

When I picked the bear up
to purchase, it had a cute lill tutu on it.
Chris, the owner, said it didn't go
with the bear.. but, I bought the bear
anyway, thinking I'd sew one up, no problem.

Well, I never got around to it..
but, guess what I found in a thrift store
the other day!!

A white tutu!

After I bought the bear and brought
it home, I took a peek at the tag
to see what it's name was.

Much to my suprize.. the bear
isn't a she.. he's a "Bradley"!!

Isn't Bradley so cute with a
new tutu and a rhinestone crown?!

At the same store I found these stunning
size 8 little girl dresses..

So pretty

The lady I bought them from asked if someone
was getting married, I said, "Nope, but, these will
look great as a backdrop in my booth"!

I'll be bringing them up to RnR
next week to hang them up.
Promise to take pictures!

(Can't wait to show ya'll  what I've been working on..
I hope to have them up in my booth by Wednesday..
It's taken awhile to complete this project,
considering it's so flippen hot outside I can't last
more than an hour at a time without sweating to death.. LOL )

My last stop of the day was at an
antique mall here in Mt. Dora, FL.

I had a grea time looking for treasures
but, never really found anything
in my price range that sparked my interest..

until.. I was ready to get my purse out of
the locker, I looked down and there was this
old record cabinet!

SCORE!!

I just love the antique mirror on the top.
Beveled and in tact!!

All in all quite a day of shopping..
Thanks Mr. R!!

Antique Buffet Before ~n~ After

A few days ago I showed you the
antique buffet I bought from a local
antique store...

I was so excited to get started transforming
her over to shabby goodness, I could barely
contain myself.. LOL

Here is the before picture:

Gorgeous, right?!

Well, wait till you see what
magical white paint can do!

We added a shelf to the bottom
so I can display my vintage
(and new) quilts.

I can't wait to go hunting for more
and fill it up!

I just love the antique mirror
that came with the buffet.

It's aged so beautifully!

It was pretty tough getting sandpaper
inbetween all those curves..
but, SO worth it!!

LOVE the key holes on the drawers!

From that..    To this!

Antique Buffet

Happy April Friends!

March was a great month for me..not only because I sold quite a bit in my booth at Traditions Antique Mall.. but, I received a phone call from a wonderful Lady who called to let me know she bought the antique vanity I had in my booth.

She was soooo sweet and encouraging, it was a such a nice thing for her to call me and let me know just how much she loved it.

That phone call made my week.. heck.. my entire month!

I'm so happy that there are other Shabby Chic lovers  out there,
and even better, like what I do! :-)

Thank you so much
to each and every one
of you who have encouraged
me along the way.

I am loving every minute of what I do,
and am so lucky to be able to share with others.

~

Yesterday I went out to the
Webster Flea Market to do
a little "shopping".. I didn't find much..

So, off I went to various thrift stores
and antique mall driving the hour + ride home.

I didn't have the greatest of luck,
until I arrived at the last antique mall of my day.

I shopped around for a bit, weaving up and down the isles..
then.. this.. in the WAY back.. there she was...

(Can you hear the angels singing - like I did?)

(Picture taken with my phone
inside the antique mall)

Standing all glorious and beautiful
like she was just begging me to take
her home.. so, that's just what I did!

Here she is in my garage.. YAY!
I took the drawers and the
fabulous patina'd antique mirror out..
(You'll have to wait until
it's all done to see the mirror.. sorry!)

As soon as I got her home, I couldn't
wait to start painting!!

Sneek peeks!

As soon as she's done
I promise to come back
and show ya'll!

Birthday Trip to West Palm Beach

Good morning everyone!!

Sorry I haven't been around much as of late..

But, I have a good excuse!

It was my birthday yesterday, and Mr. Ruffles and I
took a trip to West Palm Beach again this past weekend.

We had a wonderful time, and he was such a trooper
antiquing and thrift store shopping with me, yippee!!

Without further ado.. here are my pictures I wanted
to share with you all:

View from our hotel room.

Beautiful sunrises in the morning... ahhh...

We were driving around looking for
antique malls and thrift stores,
and out of the corner of my eye
I saw THIS:

I just HAD to park the car to
see what it was all about..
and, oh my gosh.. lemee tell ya..

My heart skip a few beats!!

The next pictures are what was
inside the house...

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Upstairs was a kitchen

with a turquoise fridge!!

Lots of painted furniture..

Shabby Chic'd chairs..

All Rachel Ashwell (Shabby Chic)
duvet covers, sheets, baby blankets, etc..

The price for a King Duvet?

$350! Yikes!!

Looking down the stairs

Sooo cute!!

I told Mr. Ruffles I wasn't leaving
and I was moving in.. LOL

We eventually did leave..
(Insert sad face here.. hehe)

But, we ended up at Hillsboro Antique Mall:

I was only able to take a picture
of the entrance, since they didn't
allow camaras inside.. Sorry!

I was, and still am, on the hunt
for an antique dresser for our bedroom..

Sadly, no luck the entire trip.. sigh..

~

That evening we enjoyed an
awesome dinner at a local Irish Pub.
Yummy Scotch Eggs, steak & tatos
and, of course a few beers..

This is my cute bartender! LOL

Here are some pictures of a
few of my finds on our trip:

Isn't this the most darling piggy bank?!

Ruffles!!

A HUGE cake stand.. this baby is heavy!

Hand painted rosey plate:

2 Tea Cups and saucers:

An extremely HEAVY antique mirror..
I can't wait to get my hands on a
paintbrush for this one!!

Another mirror and a couple of planters..

White locker baskets..

And, yesterday, for my birthday,
Mr. Ruffles even made me cake!!

He said the cake spells out:

"Happy Birthday, Tynk"

Um.. yeah.. I don't see it either! LMAO!!!
