Ahh... finally back to work, er, make that fun!

We're FINALLY all moved in!! Needless to say, much of our stuff is still in boxes and strewn around the house.  After, and I mean right after we moved into the new house, we jumped on a plane to visit my 96 year old grandmother on one side of the state of Michigan.. and then drove 3 hours to visit my 3 year old grandson on the other side of the state! Here's a pick of my darlin' lill James:

Pretending he's a dinasour.. of course.. hehe

Well, a week has passed and I'm finally able to dig through the jungle of a garage and get to some of my projects. Yay!  I finished 2 chairs and started to paint my corner hutch.  Here's a peek of my lill hutch:

This corner hutch was my parents.  They gave it to me when they sold the farmhouse. So, it's been around for a number of years.. Can't wait to show you the end result! Guess what color it's gonna be.. hehe

Here's the 1 of the 2 chairs I finished.  I bought it at a thrift store for only $7 bucks! It was pretty icky looking when I bought it, but, knew it had potential.. boy, was I right!! LOVE this chair now!

The before:

And.. the after.. TA DA!!

Sooo cute!!

And, this is an awesome "beachy" looking chair.. kind of reminds me of an art easel..  I painted it a really light pink and shabbied it up a little bit.  Sorry - I forgot to take a before picture.. sigh.

I sewed the little pillow on the seat the night before, and thought it'd look really cute with this chair.

What do ya think?!

  1. I love it, I love the pink chair and the pillow is wonderful, I will never look at one of those ugly high back chairs the same again, I can't believe you moved and you are already doing projects.

  3. Hi Carol, yeah, there's still ALOT to be done in the new house, but, I just couldn't wait to get back to painting and crafting fun!! Besides, the brown stain just makes me cringe.. lol I loved every minute of getting rid of it and changing it to a beautiful clean white :)

We moved to the Mt. Dora area. LOVE it up here.
