Good afternoon friends! Hope you're all enjoying your Tuesday?
It's just gorgeous out here in Mt. Dora.. blue skies and a small breeze..
perfect day for garage painting.. LOL I did take a break from painting,
and noticed that I've received another blog award! This is awesome!
Thankyou so much, Rachel from Lovely Crafty Home,
for this Versatile Blogger award. How fun!!
Please take a break and go visit Rachel at Lovely Crafty Home,
she has a great blog FULL of fun crafts and some pretty awesome tutorials.
Now, on to my part of the award.. I need to write 7 things about myself:
1.) I'm a 38 year old grandmother, who became a gramma at age 35. Yeah, I'm a youngin' for the gramma status; I had my daughter at age 18 and she gave birth to my wonderful grandson, James, at age 16.
2.) That would bring me to #2: In my family, on my mothers side, there 5 generations of us.. all living! There is my grandson, my daughter and son, me, my mom and my 96 year old grandma. She's a great-great grandma and says she never thought she'd see the day!! LOL
3.) I'm still scared of the dark! It's true.. whenever Mr. Ruffles goes out of town on business, I go to bed with a light on.. and it STAYS on!!!
4.) I've just started to diet. I need to lose just 5-10 pds for the summertime. I'd rather lose the weight than buy all new clothes. Only been on this "diet" for 3 days now.. and, boy oh boy, let me tell ya... BLECH!! I want a cupcake SOOO bad!! LOL
5.) I was born and raised in West Michigan, and moved to the Orlando, FL area about 5-6 years ago. I never minded tourists before we moved, because I was one. Now, it's a new irritation for me. Not to mention, now, when we go away somewhere my sences for being a NON irritating tourist are heightened. I make sure I pay attention to where I'm going and what I'm doing when I'm driving and sightseeing. Nothing worse than a tourist driver going 10 mph on a 45 mph road looking for the next stop. Ugh. Oooorrr!!! OR!! ORRR!! The tourist who puts his right turn signal on and ends up turning LEFT!.. grrr.. Ok, enough of that.. LOL I'm rambling now. Sorry!
6.) I recently moved to the Mt. Dora area of Florida and am having a ball shopping all the new to me thrift stores and flea markets.
7.) Since moving to Florida, I now say "soda" and not "pop"!
Ok, there ya have it! 7 things about me. It was a bit harder than I thought it'd be, but, now ya'll know me a bit better.. the next part of the award is to award 15 equally versatile bloggers from the list of blogs I follow:
3.) Lovely Beasts
7.) Piorra Maison
9.) Shabby ESP
10.) The Polka Dot Closet
11.) Wayside Treasures
12.) Sweetpea Home
14.) That's My Letter
15.) Shell's Shabby Shack
Make sure you make a pitstop at all these wonderful blogs,
I'm sure you'll enjoy each and every one.. just as much as I do!!
You are so sweet to award me. I feel like I've been knighted. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, your living in tourist world in that area. You must have so many great shops there in Mount Dora though. Do they have good thrift stores too?
So cool about 5 generations! WOW!!!
Have a great day...Tracy :)
Hi Tracy :)
ReplyDeleteThere aren't really any thrift shops right IN Mt. Dora, but, there are plenty of them in Eustis, Tavares and Leesburg. All of which are only a 5 - 15 minute drive for me. I do miss going to Salvation Army restore though. They have a GREAT one for furniture in Kissimme.
Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday evening!!
Sherri

I'm from Mnnesota and have been in Orlando for 25 years, I said pop for the first 15 and then gave in and now it's all soda all the time! Soda in Minnesota is when you put pop with ice cream!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Tynk! Very sweet of you to pass this along.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am afraid of the dark. Well, not so much the dark... being alone in the dark. I'm 40... wonder if I'll ever outgrow it :)
Good luck with your diet. Now you have me wanting a cupcake, ha!
Take care!
~Michelle
Congrats on the award! You deserve it! And thank you so much for passing it on to me. I really appreciate it. Love your comment about "soda" vs "pop" by the way. I used to call everything "coke" when I was in Texas, then moved to Massachusetts and started saying "soda". Now that I'm back in Texas, who knows what'll happen! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd also you're too kind to leave such a nice comment on my blog. It really is great to have such supportive bloggers out here. You're awesome!
Emily
