Birthday Trip to West Palm Beach

Good morning everyone!!

Sorry I haven't been around much as of late..

But, I have a good excuse!

It was my birthday yesterday, and Mr. Ruffles and I
took a trip to West Palm Beach again this past weekend.

We had a wonderful time, and he was such a trooper
antiquing and thrift store shopping with me, yippee!!

Without further ado.. here are my pictures I wanted
to share with you all:

View from our hotel room.

Beautiful sunrises in the morning... ahhh...

We were driving around looking for
antique malls and thrift stores,
and out of the corner of my eye
I saw THIS:

I just HAD to park the car to
see what it was all about..
and, oh my gosh.. lemee tell ya..

My heart skip a few beats!!

The next pictures are what was
inside the house...

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Upstairs was a kitchen

with a turquoise fridge!!

Lots of painted furniture..

Shabby Chic'd chairs..

All Rachel Ashwell (Shabby Chic)
duvet covers, sheets, baby blankets, etc..

The price for a King Duvet?

$350! Yikes!!

Looking down the stairs

Sooo cute!!

I told Mr. Ruffles I wasn't leaving
and I was moving in.. LOL

We eventually did leave..
(Insert sad face here.. hehe)

But, we ended up at Hillsboro Antique Mall:

I was only able to take a picture
of the entrance, since they didn't
allow camaras inside.. Sorry!

I was, and still am, on the hunt
for an antique dresser for our bedroom..

Sadly, no luck the entire trip.. sigh..

~

That evening we enjoyed an
awesome dinner at a local Irish Pub.
Yummy Scotch Eggs, steak & tatos
and, of course a few beers..

This is my cute bartender! LOL

Here are some pictures of a
few of my finds on our trip:

Isn't this the most darling piggy bank?!

Ruffles!!

A HUGE cake stand.. this baby is heavy!

Hand painted rosey plate:

2 Tea Cups and saucers:

An extremely HEAVY antique mirror..
I can't wait to get my hands on a
paintbrush for this one!!

Another mirror and a couple of planters..

White locker baskets..

And, yesterday, for my birthday,
Mr. Ruffles even made me cake!!

He said the cake spells out:

"Happy Birthday, Tynk"

Um.. yeah.. I don't see it either! LMAO!!!

I'm Back... Finds & My Visit...

Finally I have some time
to sit down and share with ya'll!

I have been keeping up
(to a point)
with your blog posts,
creations and emails..

But, I still feel I'm behind somehow!

I visited my booth yesterday
to put more things inside
and totally forgot my camara!
Sheesh!!

I am going back tomorrow,
and promise to bring my camara.
In fact, my camara is already
in my purse, so I don't forget!

I also did a little thrifting
and antiquing yesterday.

Here are a few of my finds:

Sweet little step ladder...

Laundry bag and
HUGE basket...

This is a mirror, but,
I got a jumpstart on it
this morning and already
took the mirror out
before I took the picture...

I scored all of these
blue Ball jars for FREE!
(My sweet gramma gave
them to me...
Thanks Gramma!!)

I found this Raspberry Soda
bottle top advertisment.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

2 metal vintage picture frames
and
an antique mirror and brush..

Close up of the brush..
LOVE.

I also wanted to share
this picture of my Gramma...

I visited with my Gramma
when I took a trip to
Michigan a week ago.

She's in a home, and hooked up
to oxygen 24/7 now.
(insert sad face here.)

She always enjoyed the beach,
and I can remember her
taking me to the beach
when I was a kid quite often..

Soo, being that she is on oxygen
and in a wheel chair,
Mr. Ruffles & I decided that
if she can't get to the beach
we'd take the beach to her!!

We took a kiddie pool
and filled it with beach sand,
a bucket & shovel, pinwheels
and a beach ball.
We even found a citronella candle
that looked like a mug of frosty beer!!

She thought it was real at first
and pulled up her nose... hehehe!

I also saw my 3 year old grandson
on the other side of the state.
I had a blast with him
swimming, shopping and sidewalk chalking..

That's my son and my grandson..
Love those kids!!!

I had a great time in my
homestate of Michigan..

But, it's soooo good to be home!

Awesome Thrifting Goodness!

My day yesterday started out with a big *sigh* ~ as I detest running errands..

I did end the day feeling quite accomplished, though!

I started the day out about 10am, and finally finished my running around at around 3:30pm.
No sence in going home, Mr. Ruffles doesn't get home until 5:30pm, so, I figured I had time to kill at a couple of thrift stores.  (I even squeezed in some time at a local antique mall)  Man o man, I am glad I did! Wait.. just wait till you see what I found and took home with me!!

No furniture ~ althought I really wanted to buy a couple of peices ~ I showed Mr. Ruffles my finds last night and he says, "I thought you weren't buying anymore until you had some of the other done?"  I corrected him and said, "No.. I said I wouldn't buy anymore FURNITURE until I had some of the other done.." hehehe!!!

Ok, without further ado, my thrifting finds yesterday:

Gorgeous shabby rose platter with gold trim
Wire basket
AWESOME turquoise enamel ware

Letter holder & gold mirror frames (yep, gonna paint these!)
White wire basket
Check out the cool pink phone!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
It's a note card and pen holder. The middle says, "Dial Me"
So cute!!
3 little Homer Laughlin plates

Another close up pic of the phone
and I wrapped these blue colored vintage books in burlap

 Picture frame
Wine bottle corks
Huge bag of buttons
Vintage Pink thread
Apothecary jar
Galvanized flour scoop

Galvanized tall pail

Insert Happy Dance here!!!

More RUFFLES!!

And, I found this set of skeleton keys at the Antique Mall.

I finished the day off by texting Mr. Ruffles he needed to take me out to dinner.  We ate a pretty awesome restaurant that is set up on the beach of a small lake nearby, and ate outside. ahhhh... :)
