Antique Buffet Makeover

I'm finally done with my antique buffet
I bought a few months ago..

Remember this?

Don't be scared!
I promise the pics get better.. :-)

She really put up a fight!
I had to chisel her peeling and warped
veneer top totally off..

Her backside was a damn shame to gaze upon,
so that had to come off and get replaced.
Along with more peeling veneer..

As I said, she put up a fight,
but, I think in the end..

I won!!

I stained the top, and used poly rub on to seal..

Her top got a few new knobs
from Hobby Lobby..

I dry brushed her bottom handles..

Distressed her up..

Lined all of her drawers with
vintage dictionary pages..

(She's a whole heck of alot smarter now!)

I just love her to pieces!!

From that...     to this!

  2. Thanks! (Love your blog name!!)

You really should! It was alot of extra work, but, SOOO worth it. Each day I worked on her, the more excited I got!

A friend on facebook told me the next time to use a heat gun, I hadn't even thought about that, and I'm sure it would've saved me many hours!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting :)

Lina and Deborah, thankyou so much!! Glad you like her :)

Emily, yours is so cute! I really do think you did an amazing job on it. I love the "missing" drawer thing so much, now I wanna find an even crappier dresser, just so I can take the drawers out!! LOL
