Chippy Chandy

What a great start to a beautiful weekend!
Not a cloud in the sky, and a cool autumn breeze..
perfect for painting!

I took a break from my fireplace mantel today.
Yesterday, I put the 3rd and final coat of paint on
and started to shabby it up.. she's coming along
really nice, and I can't wait for it to be done
to show ya'll!  But, today, my arms were just
plain killing me from yesterdays project.

So, today, I thought I'd tackle something smaller.

I bought this a few days ago:

What a great chandy it is, prisms and all!
(Yes, I had the shop owner hook it up
and plug it in so I knew it worked! LOL)

I took off all the prisms, cleaned it up
and used 3 cans of flat white spray paint.

While I was waiting for it to dry,
I washed and dried all the prisms.

After the paint had dried
I took sandpaper and shabbied..
and shabbied some more..

Brushed off all the dust,
put back all the prisms,
and got this!

Originally I had bought this with
the intent to bring it to my booth
and sell.. but, I just don't think
I can part with it!!

I have to wait until Mr. Ruffles
comes home from a business trip
before it can get hung up..

So, for now, it's hanging on
the back of one of the kitchen chairs... LOL

I promise to take another photo
when it's hung up in our house properly..

Trip to Michigan & Shabby Side Table

Hi ya'll! It's been a bit since I've posted
anything on my blog, and I apologize for that!
We've just been SO busy around here.. it's nuts.

Last week I took a trip up to Michigan to visit
family again... I'm so happy that we took our trip
when we did since the weather the week before
was in the 50's and lower, and the week after was
the same. The week we went.... 80's!! Yippee!!
(Except for the fact that I packed all winter clothes.. LOL)

I had a great time, I visited my grandma who turned 96
on September 10th.  She had so many stories to tell me
of "yester-year"... I just love listening to each and every
one of them and daydreaming of a simpler life... Ahh..

I also visited my 3 year old grandson James.  We went
swimming in the hotel, did some shopping, and visited
Warmbler Farms twice.  The "farms" were all decorated
up for Halloween and had many different activities for
the kids to do.. the day we went was "grossology".. yeah!
We made slime!! haha!

James got a ride when we were there too:
He's in the last cow cart..

Here's a pic of my silly grandson
in his Pumpkin Shades:

And, another one of him with
the lizards we bought..
he cracks me up.. so funny!!

My parents, my son Anthony and I also
went on a color tour north of the
Muskegon area in Michigan.

Most of the leaves hadn't changed yet,
but, some had and it was beautiful regardless.

We stopped at an apple orchard along the way.
My dad and my son went on a tractor ride
and picked a 1/2 bushel of apples..

Gee, Dad.. ya might wanna smile
when the camaras a snappin!! LOL

I just adore this picture, above,  I took..

Me and Anthony sitting in the HUGE
adirondack chair!

It was a long week away from home,
I loved every minute.. but,
I'm so happy to be sleeping
in my own bed again!

~~~
The weather is soo beautiful
outside here in  Florida, it was
great to feel the sun and
warm breezes in the air today..
Here's a little side table
I completed this afternoon outside:
Before:
I copied this image from The Graphics Fairy
and modpodged it on the top,
after painting it a pretty cream color.
There was also a matching strip
of these roses, so I copied a few
of those off and mod podged that to
the sides as well.
Here's the top after I sanded it down some:
And, here she is all done!
Love!
I hope you've all enjoyed your week,
I'm sooo happy it's the weekend
and I'm home :-)
Radio Cabinet ReDo
I found this radio cabinet at the antique mall
where I have my booth:
Poor thing!! LOL
So, of course,
I just had to take her home
and give her a makeover..
Here she is all painted white..
And, here she is all
shabby'd up and gorgeous!!
I lined the inside with some
pretty Shabby Chic brand fabric..
Pink n White Bookcase
I took a break from the dresser
I posted about a few days ago..
She's really taking a long time,
and I tend to have a zillion and one
projects going on at the same time
anyway... so..
another one couldn't hurt, eh?
It's a bookcase.. and she's a heavy one!
I wanted to try something
a bit different, so, I painted the back pink
and the rest of it my favorite.. white!
Yeah, it has a hole in it..
I left it there, in case someone
wanted to take the top shelf out
and use it as a TV stand.
The roses are actually a handle
from a silver platter I picked up
awhile ago.
I gorilla glued it on to the top.
gave a quick coat of spray primer
and then painted overtop of that.
All waxed and shabby'd up..
I decided to distress this one
quite a bit, so, it wouldn't look
SO little girly, and maybe something
you'd find tucked away in the
back corner of the basement..
Or my garage! LOL
I just love how it turned out!!
Well, it is when I finished my
Pretty in Pink Desk!
Here is the only before I have
of the desk.. sorry 'bout that..
It was the typical cream and gold blah color.
And now...
Ever so lightly distressed..
