Pink Princess Chandelier

Oh my goodness, wait till you see
what I went and did now!

I bought this chandy off of Craigslist
last week.  FULL of crystals..
and yucky gold.

Originally I was just going to clean
it up a bit and bring it up to my booth..
But, once I started cleaning it,
I started to unravel the rust too..
and not the good kind.

I ran up to Walmart with the intention
of standing in front of the spray paint
shelves and hoping a color would jump
out at me... like turquoise, or something...
(That's what color I was hoping would
make my heart sing anyway..)

Nope, no turquoise.. instead..
Princess Pink!

Here's the before, once more..

And, here's the after!

Man oh man, did she clean up purdy!!

Over 75 crystals...
YUM!

I think it's perfect for
your bathroom, entryway
or
your little girls pink princess room!

From that...                  To this!

PS.. This fabulous chandy is for sale.
It's currently just "hanging around"
in my booth.. LOL

Really great steal at only $155!!

Table and Chairs ~ Before and After

Last week I picked up this table and chairs set
off of Craigslist.

It's a gorgeous drop leaf table
with 3 leaves and 5 chairs!

What's not so gorgeous is
the water marks, stains, chips,
and the fuzzy blue fabric on the chairs.

EW

I started to rip the chair covers off
to find there was a previous fabric cover
underneath the blue as well.  It was a really
ugly tapestry colored almost black.

Not only were there 2 layers, the covers
were stapled, nailed AND glued! Sheesh!

I am now sporting a few blisters,
a broken nail, and a few cuts on my hands..

All in all.. it was sooo worth it.
Check out the afters!!

Painted white, of course..

Recovered the chair seats
with some beautiful
yellow, blue and white toile fabric.

Shabbied her up..

LOVE that it can be converted
to a drop leaf breakfast table too.

So cute!

(I still need to paint the 3 leaves
that came with the table..
but, for now, I'm taking a break!)

Antique Buffet Before ~n~ After

A few days ago I showed you the
antique buffet I bought from a local
antique store...

I was so excited to get started transforming
her over to shabby goodness, I could barely
contain myself.. LOL

Here is the before picture:

Gorgeous, right?!

Well, wait till you see what
magical white paint can do!

We added a shelf to the bottom
so I can display my vintage
(and new) quilts.

I can't wait to go hunting for more
and fill it up!

I just love the antique mirror
that came with the buffet.

It's aged so beautifully!

It was pretty tough getting sandpaper
inbetween all those curves..
but, SO worth it!!

LOVE the key holes on the drawers!

Antique Buffet

Happy April Friends!

March was a great month for me..not only because I sold quite a bit in my booth at Traditions Antique Mall.. but, I received a phone call from a wonderful Lady who called to let me know she bought the antique vanity I had in my booth.

She was soooo sweet and encouraging, it was a such a nice thing for her to call me and let me know just how much she loved it.

That phone call made my week.. heck.. my entire month!

I'm so happy that there are other Shabby Chic lovers  out there,
and even better, like what I do! :-)

Thank you so much
to each and every one
of you who have encouraged
me along the way.

I am loving every minute of what I do,
and am so lucky to be able to share with others.

~

Yesterday I went out to the
Webster Flea Market to do
a little "shopping".. I didn't find much..

So, off I went to various thrift stores
and antique mall driving the hour + ride home.

I didn't have the greatest of luck,
until I arrived at the last antique mall of my day.

I shopped around for a bit, weaving up and down the isles..
then.. this.. in the WAY back.. there she was...

(Can you hear the angels singing - like I did?)

(Picture taken with my phone
inside the antique mall)

Standing all glorious and beautiful
like she was just begging me to take
her home.. so, that's just what I did!

Here she is in my garage.. YAY!
I took the drawers and the
fabulous patina'd antique mirror out..
(You'll have to wait until
it's all done to see the mirror.. sorry!)

As soon as I got her home, I couldn't
wait to start painting!!

Sneek peeks!

As soon as she's done
I promise to come back
and show ya'll!

Sleep Tight

Ok, so.. bear with me as I try
this new blogger layout thing.
I'm really not a creature of change..
I like to stick to what I know.
I'm still not even very impressed with
the new Facebook layout... now this?

ARGH!! LOL

Hopefully when I'm done writing this
and I hit "Publish" it'll look like I meant
to have it look that way!

Here we go!!

I was quite inspired and facinated with
the signs over at My *Pink* Life blog.
She has made some really awesome
signs out of wood.

I picked up 4 of these wood slats
at a store that was going out of business
near my house.  I'm pretty sure they
went to a bookcase...

I gave them all a good bath.
Let them dry.
Then, painted 1 coat of white on.

I typed out the letters in Word.
The printed them off.

I then used carbon paper
to trace the words onto the wood.

After all that.. I then used a small
paintbrush and black paint to
paint the words onto the wood.

And, came up with this:

PS: I just hit publish and
looked at my blog post..
Guess the change isn't so bad..
I can't tell the difference.. hehe
