New Color For Me

It's a bit dreary outside today
in Florida.. still warm, so,
no complaints.. just a good
day to get a couple crafty
projects done..

I picked this little 1/2 side table
up at Renningers Extravaganza
a couple of weeks ago:

Very cute.. and very sturdy.
Just not liking the stain color..

not at all!

So.. off to Lowes I go!

I decided I'd try a new color.
I picked up a quart of
Valspars Notre Dame.

I am really loving this shade!

Isn't it pretty?

From that..                     To this!

The table above and
all these goodies below
are going to my booth at
Traditions Antique Mall
tomorrow..

If you're in the Wildwood area,
I'd love to meet ya!

Hope ya'll are enjoying your day!

Lamp Redo

I picked up this lamp at
a local flea market
a few months ago..

I switched the lamp shade
with this one..

Then painted the lamp white,
added crystals,

and tore strips of
white linen and pink cotton

to get this!

Finds and What I've Been up to..

It's been such a busy month for me.
I've traveled to and back from Michigan
to visit my daughter and my grandson:

His birthday is this month.
I can't believe he's already 4!

And, a wonderful suprize..
My daughter is pregnant
with a girl!!  So, in April I'll
be making another trip up north.
I'm so excited for her and can't
wait for baby Aubrey to arrive.

My brother is also visiting from Germany.
Mr. Ruffles drove down to Ft. Lauderdale
to see him and go out for the evening.

You just know I had to squeeze in
some thrifting and picking
while we were down there too!

I found this amazing set
of antique headboard/footboards:

Yep, there are 2 headboards
and 2 footboards.. a matching twin set!

I also got this antique dresser.
Love the lines and the pulls..

Ok, this one.. I have no idea
what it belonged to or what it
came off of.. but, just look at it!

LOVE!

I can't wait to get started on it.
I can see it hung on a wall
above a bed, or leaned up
on the top of a mantal..

I also made sure I didn't
miss Renningers Extranvaganza
before we left for Ft. Lauderdale.

I was only able to go for a couple
of hours, but, did manage to find
a couple of neat finds like this:

Love the marble base
and the crystals hanging from it!
I'm really hoping I have more
time for the next extravaganza
in February.. last big one until
November.. sigh..

I finally finished this wonderful
childrens rocking chair.

So cute..

But.. you know I had to
fix it up with some Shabby goodness!!

Here's she is.. all pink n pretty:

This one is going up to my booth
at Traditions Antique Mall tomorrow.

Goodwill Chair to Shabby Goodness Chair!

I went to a local Goodwill store
the other day.  As soon as I walked
in the door I spotted this beauty:

Ain't she cute?

Sexy spindle legs,
Curvy arms,
and a seat big enough
to hold my "end result"
of eating too many
Christmas cookies!!

So, I packed her in the truck
and she came home with me.

I sanded her down, bathed her,
gave her a pretty makeover
in Valspars' Swiss Coffee paint,
overstuffed and wrapped her seat
with some gorgeous
Shabby Chic fabric:

And here she is!

Sooo much cuter :-)

CL Hutch Makeover

I went to run some erronds today,
including the post office and the bank.
Am I the only one who didn't know
they were both closed today?  Does
anyone know the reason why? It's not
New Years Day anymore.. it's the 2nd!?

So, that being said, my errond trip was
cut short, and I came back home to
finish up this hutch I've been working on.

I got it a few weeks ago
off of Craigslist..

I just love shopping on Craigslist!!

The hutch was cleaned up, sanded down,
3 coats of Valspar Swiss Coffee
(yes, I still have a love affair with regular ol' paint!)
and shabbied up.. ever so lightly.

Here she is!!
